Prescriptions are available from us. You may obtain relevant veterinary medicinal products from us OR ask for a written prescription (for which there is a charge) and obtain these medicines from a pharmacy or an on-line pharmacy. Our vets are only permitted to prescribe relevant veterinary medicinal products (Category V – ‘POM-V’) only following a clinical assessment of an animal under his or her care. A prescription may not be appropriate where immediate treatment is necessary.

A prescription charge is applied for prescriptions that are requested but are fulfilled by somewhere other than Epona Equine Vets. The amount of prescription charge is available on request.

Animals requiring repeat prescriptions will need to be re-assessed periodically by the veterinary surgeon dealing with the case. The re-examination interval will vary between clinical cases. We require at least 48 hours’ notice for any requests for a repeat or written prescription. There is a charge for a re-examination.

Please note that the practice cannot accept the return of any prescription drugs as such items cannot be resold however we can assist with the safe disposal of medication that is no longer needed.
