Castrations and Field Surgery

We can usually perform castration at your premises. Most castrates can be performed under standing sedation.

We may also be able to perform other field surgeries at your premises but this is dependent on the surroundings and facilities available. Our team will be happy to advise you further on this should the need arise.

Referrals

Should it ever be required, we have the support of the multi-discipline team of Specialist veterinary surgeons at large equine referral hospitals across the UK who are on hand for advice and support.

If specialist investigation, treatment or surgery is required, we have excellent relationships with equine veterinary referral centres within our region, such as Rainbow Equine Hospital, North Yorkshire; Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital, Wirral; Pool House Equine Hospital, Staffordshire and Fyrnwy Equine Hospital, Shropshire.

Specialist services include:

• Advanced diagnostic imaging – Radiography, CT, MRI, scintigraphy and ultrasound scanning
• Orthopaedic investigation
• Poor performance investigation
• Orthopaedic surgery
• Soft tissue surgery including colic
• Internal medicine services – including gastroscopy, neurology, cardiology, ophthalmology and oncology
• Advanced dentistry – endodontics, periodontal work and extractions
